We have carried Ember Art’s Acholi Beads for years and they have always been a great gift with an inspirational story.  In the Ugandan village where Acholi Beads are made the only other viable employment is the back breaking work of quarrying rocks by hand.  This fair trade business venture has given the women in this village a chance to improve their living conditions, education, and health.  Ember Arts has not only worked with the women to start the business, but also counsels them on how to manage their new wealth.
